With a general corporate and securities law practice, Daniel helps corporations, founders and investors seeking risk reduction and legal certainty in their commercial arrangements.

Daniel is an associate with the firm's Capital Markets and Venture Finance Groups, where he focuses on capital raising, cross-border mergers and acquisitions and corporate governance issues. He also regularly advises TSX and TSXV listed issuers on all matters related to compliance with exchange rules and continuous disclosure obligations.

As a Co-Director of the firm's Startups practice, he assists corporations and founders at all stages of business, with a focus on business-critical legal issues such as corporate structuring and product commercialization. He is also a frequent contributor to startupsource.ca, an award-winning blog which features timely commentaries on the latest developments in startup news, events and information on capital raising and planning for future growth.

Daniel joined Aird & Berlis as an associate after summering and articling at the firm.

MediPharm Labs Corp. Completes Qualifying Transaction and Commences Trading on the TSXV

On October 1, 2018, MediPharm Labs Corp. completed its business combination with MediPharm Labs Inc., which resulted in a reverse take-over of the Company by the shareholders of the Target and constituted the “Qualifying Transaction” of the Company as such term is defined in the policies of the TSX Venture Exchange. On October 4, 2018, the shares of MediPharm Labs began trading on the TSXV under the ticker symbol “LABS”.

On June 29, 2018, MediPharm Labs Inc. completed a private placement of 2,070,571 units at a price of $10.778 per Unit for aggregate proceeds of approximately $22,316,600 in connection with its proposed business combination with POCML4 Inc.

Natural Medco Ltd. Completes $20.8 Million Private Placement and Eve & Co Incorporated Completes Qualifying Transaction and Initial TSXV Listing

On June 15, 2018, Natural MedCo Ltd. completed a brokered private placement of 25,340,000 subscription receipts at a price of $0.25 per subscription receipt and a non-brokered private placement of 17,852,600 common shares at a price of $0.25 per share for gross proceeds of approximately $10.8 million. Concurrently with the closing of the brokered private placement, Natural MedCo completed a private placement of 10,000 debenture units comprised of convertible debentures and common share purchase warrants for gross proceeds of $10 million.

Blockchain Power Trust Closes $43 Million Brokered Private Placement and Acquisition of 45MW Wind Power Project

On January 8, 2018, Blockchain Power completed a brokered private placement of 90,047,832 units at a price of $0.48 per unit for gross proceeds of approximately $43 million (the “Offering”). Each unit issued pursuant to the Offering consisted of one trust unit of the Trust and one-half of one trust unit purchase warrant. Each trust unit purchase warrant entitles the holder thereof to acquire one trust unit at an exercise price of $0.80 until January 8, 2020.
