Monica is a member of the firm’s Municipal & Land Use Planning and Expropriation Groups.
With a background in public policy and experience as an in-house municipal solicitor, Monica has intimate knowledge of local government and its powers, operation and jurisdiction. She leverages her expertise to advise clients on a variety of legislative, regulatory and policy matters. Her practical and strategic advice helps clients to resolve issues and advance their objectives in an efficient and effective manner.
Monica provides advice and representation to private and public sector clients in connection with a variety of municipal and land use matters, including council authority, freedom of information, municipal election law, and drafting, interpreting and enforcing municipal by-laws. She has an interest in municipal governance, accountability and transparency.
