Joanna is an intellectual property lawyer who enjoys developing and nurturing relationships with clients and colleagues alike. Her experience working as a former sales and marketing executive in the wine industry provides Joanna with a unique perspective on brand development. She finds excitement in new business ventures and is committed to helping clients realize the full value, potential and authenticity of their IP.
Joanna is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Group. She is a registered trademark agent in Canada. Her practice focuses on domestic and international trademark prosecution, including clearance opinions and handling contentious matters (oppositions and expungement proceedings). Joanna is experienced in advising clients ranging from independent business owners and start-ups to multinational companies with global portfolios. She advises Canadian and international clients on the creation, clearance, prosecution, opposition and enforcement of trademarks. Joanna also advises on advertising, marketing and branding strategies, including the review of consumer packaging, labelling and point of sale materials, contest and promotion review and competition law compliance.Professional Involvement
