Kate approaches litigation matters calmly and attentively, helping clients navigate even the most stressful situations with confidence. She works closely with them to grasp the complexities of their disputes and leverages her strategic insight to develop creative strategies that respond to the unique circumstances of each case.
Kate is a member of the firm's Litigation & Dispute Resolution Group. Her practice covers a broad range of corporate and commercial disputes, including defamation and libel claims, shareholder disputes, oppression claims, partnership disagreements, land and real estate matters, and judicial reviews and appeals. She also works with the firm's Indigenous Practice Group on complex litigation matters on behalf of Indigenous communities, governments and nations.
Kate has appeared before all levels of court in Ontario, as well as the Alberta and Saskatchewan Courts of King's Bench, the Saskatchewan Court of Appeal and various administrative tribunals, including the Consent and Capacity Board and the Human Rights Tribunal.
Prior to joining Aird & Berlis, Kate practised at a nationally recognized litigation firm.
