Gillfor Distribution Inc. Acquires AFA Forest Products Inc.

On June 30, 2022, Gillfor Distribution Inc., parent company to OWL Distribution, McIlveen Lumber Industries, Brunswick Valley Distribution and Brown & Rutherford Co., completed the acquisition of AFA Forest Products Inc., a leading and long-standing distributor for building products in Canada. Gillfor purchased AFA through an affiliate in a combination of cash and debt.
Aird & Berlis acted as Ontario and Quebec legal counsel to the purchaser in connection with the acquisition and financing, with a team including Aaron Bains, Amy Marcen-Gaudaur, Mistrale Lepage-Chouinard, Stephen Zolf, Nevethan Balendra, Shiva Shirazi-Kia, Eric Torelli and Lynn Tay.
