International Trucking Inc. Placed Into Receivership After Adjournment Request Denied by Court
May 21, 2026
On May 21, 2026, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Commercial List) appointed a receiver over the assets, undertakings and properties of International Trucking Inc., a trucking and logistics company located in Baden, Ontario, and its related entity, in order to advance a competing application under the Companies’ Creditors Arrangement Act. The order was made on application by Royal Bank of Canada (“RBC”) in respect of approximately $11 million in indebtedness secured against substantially all of the respondents’ assets.
The court dismissed an adjournment request made by the respondents on the day of the hearing and proceeded to grant the receivership order. The court noted that the debtors had been in default since 2025, that no viable restructuring proposal was presented and that prior negotiations had not resulted in a workable resolution. The court also confirmed the appropriateness of a court-supervised receivership given competing creditor claims and the complexity of the trucking operations.
