Woodington Lake Golf Club Sale Approved Following Receiver-Led Bidding Process

April 23, 2026

On February 4, 2026, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice (Commercial List) approved a vesting order in respect of a transaction for the sale of substantially all assets of Woodington Estates Inc., Woodington Management Inc. and 1000736785 Ontario Limited, which entities owned and operated the 36-hole Woodington Lake Golf Club in Tottenham, Ontario. The sale was sought by Albert Gelman Inc., in its capacity as both receiver of Woodington Estates Inc. (“Receiver”) and sales officer over Woodington Management Inc. and 1000736785 Ontario Limited (“Sales Officer”).

The approved transaction closed on April 23, 2026, following a court-supervised sale process involving an extensive marketing and bidding process for the Woodington Lake Golf Club. The court held that the Receiver and Sales Officer conducted a fair and robust process, obtained the best available price in the circumstances and properly rejected non-compliant bids.

Aird & Berlis acted for Albert Gelman Inc., with a team including Steven Graff, Samantha Hans and Shaun Parsons (Financial Services).
